“Mark your calendars! The tenth annual World Naked Gardening Day is Saturday May 2.
On the first Saturday of every May, EVERYONE around the world is encouraged to get back to the basics by tending to their gardens completely naked. The annual tradition has been alive since 2005.“Our culture needs to move toward a healthy sense of both body acceptance and our relation to the natural environment,” reads the press release. “Gardening naked is not only a simple joy, it reminds us–even if only for those few sunkissed minutes–that we can be honest with who we are as humans and as part of this planet.”
So, you may ask: Why garden naked? WNGD explains:
1.It’s fun! It costs no money. Runs no unwanted risk. Reminds us of our tie to the natural world, and does something good for the environment.
2. Second only to swimming, gardening is at the top of the list of family-friendly activities people are most ready to consider doing nude.
3. It’s an opportunity to get naked and do some gardening with friends and family, or your local guarding club.
Alright thats it…time to roll the sleeves right off and get to work… Getting in touch with mother earth can only happen when we choose to really expose our selfs to what it means to connect with the Earth… So the first Saturday of May is National Garden Naked Day…a US holiday…what happens when that holiday coincides with the 5th of May and I celebrate my Mexican victory with 1.25 Liters of Tequila (nope i can’t finish a whole one, RIP basement stairs carpet)
This seems like a fun holiday though…shake things up…victimless…it will definitely get the blood and creativity going the more I think about it…You might have a heightened awareness or become much more relaxed…Life is to short not to see a wacky post on the internet and just get naked in the outdoors because a meme told you too… Get out and live… Plant some purple pansy’s! Rake out the gardens! Be with your family and and friends like the article says and be naked… be you!
